Wellshave Review: Is a Dedicated Body Groomer Worth It Over an All-in-One Trimmer?

In this article
Many men own one trimmer and use it for everything: beard, head and body. It works, more or less, until a nick or an uneven patch makes it obvious that one tool cannot do every job equally well. Wellshave is interesting because it sells grooming tools organised by area, including a dedicated body groomer with ceramic blades and waterproofing for use in the shower.
I would start with what you actually groom and how often. A specialised tool earns its price when it makes a regular routine quicker, safer or more comfortable. A drawer of devices does little for the budget if most of them are used once and forgotten.
What Wellshave sells
Wellshave, which trades mainly through a Dutch storefront in euros, sells body groomers, shavers, beard trimmers, hair clippers, nose trimmers, safety razors, accessories and bundles. It groups products by area: body and intimate areas, face and beard, and head. Prices on the pages read included the Groom Guard body groomer at €49.95, the Groom Guard PRO with an added foil head at €59.95, the Barber Bro 3.0 multi-tool at €129.95 and a seven-head Head Shaver Deluxe at €54.95.
That structure encourages buying for a specific job. Decide which area causes the most difficulty with your current tools before choosing.
A closer look at the Groom Guard
The Groom Guard product page lists SkinSafe ceramic blades, a motor up to 6,600 RPM, IPX7 waterproofing, a 650 mAh lithium-ion battery, an LED light, a charging stand and four combs from 1.5 to 4.5 mm. The page quotes 120 minutes of charging for 120 minutes of use, while the FAQ mentions a 90-minute charge, so treat the exact charge time as approximate.
IPX7 means the device is designed to withstand immersion in shallow water, which makes shower use practical. Ceramic blades are often chosen for sensitive areas because they are designed to reduce nicks and stay cooler, though comfort will still depend on technique.
Running costs and blade replacement
Replacement Groom Guard blades are sold separately at €14.95. No replacement interval is stated on the pages read, so the real running cost depends on how often you groom and how quickly the blade dulls for you.
Include at least one replacement blade in your yearly budget if you groom frequently. Rinsing and drying the head after each use, following the manufacturer’s instructions, can help it last longer.
Technique matters as much as the tool
Even a well-designed groomer can irritate skin if it is used quickly against the grain on a dry, tight area. Using a longer comb first, keeping skin taut and working slowly in sensitive areas tends to give a more comfortable result than going straight to the shortest setting.
If you have sensitive skin, try the device on a small area first and give the skin time to settle before a full trim. The combs included with the Groom Guard make it possible to trim rather than shave close, which many people find more comfortable for regular maintenance.
The trial, returns and warranty
The product page advertises a 100-day trial with return shipping paid by Wellshave, and the FAQ describes a 100-day free trial; the separate refund policy, however, describes only the standard 14-day EU withdrawal period with the buyer paying return shipping. Wellshave lists a two-year warranty on every device. Read the terms that apply at checkout and keep your order confirmation in case you need to use the trial.
Delivery is listed as next day for orders placed by 23:59 on weekdays in the Netherlands, with free shipping in the Netherlands and Belgium from €30 and €4.95 below that. Orders can be cancelled until they ship.
Compare the cost per year
Add the device and the replacement blades you expect to need. Then compare that with what you currently spend on disposable razors, cartridges or a general-purpose trimmer that does the job less comfortably.
For illustration, a €49.95 groomer plus one €14.95 blade a year works out to about €40 a year over two years of use. Cartridge razors used weekly can easily cost more. That is a budgeting example, not a lifespan estimate.
My verdict
Wellshave looks well suited to men who want a dedicated, shower-safe body groomer or a set of tools matched to different areas. The published blade, motor and waterproofing specifications make it straightforward to compare with a general trimmer. I have not used these devices, so comfort, cutting performance and battery life remain untested here.
I would choose the tool for the area that bothers you most, budget for replacement blades and confirm which trial terms apply before ordering. The price earns its place when grooming becomes quicker and more comfortable. One good tool used properly beats several used occasionally.
