BIQU Equipment Review: Which 3D Printer Upgrades Are Worth Paying For?
Oct 31, 2026 · 1 views

In this article
A printer upgrade is worthwhile when it removes a repeated frustration: awkward controls, a difficult material change or a part that does not suit your workflow. BIQUâs extensive accessories catalogue offers plenty of possibilities, but it also makes it easy to spend on improvements you cannot yet define.
My recommendation is to buy around one measured problem at a time. The useful outcome is a more reliable or convenient printing process. A basket of new parts is not evidence of better prints, and installing several changes together makes it harder to tell which one helped.
Identify the bottleneck first
Before shopping, record what is going wrong and under which conditions. Is the issue a particular model, material, speed or maintenance task? A hardware accessory may be irrelevant if the real problem is calibration, a worn part or a setting. Start with the printerâs maintenance guidance and a repeatable baseline.
Then define a useful improvement you could observe. Easier access to controls is different from faster print completion. Better visibility is different from stronger parts. One purchase does not need to solve all of those problems to be worthwhile, but its job should be clear.
Panda Touch: convenience with a firmware caveat
The official Panda Touch listing describes a five-inch touchscreen with wireless and multi-printer functions for specified Bambu Lab families. It also publishes firmware compatibility limits and warns that later printer firmware can affect functionality. The warranty statement excludes loss of functionality caused by a Bambu Lab firmware update.
That warning belongs near the centre of the buying decision. Confirm support for your exact printer and installed firmware before ordering. Do not assume the accessory will retain every function after future updates, and do not postpone important printer updates merely to preserve an optional convenience feature without understanding the implications.
Panda Jet and mechanical compatibility
The Panda Jet listing describes a cooling duct for specified X1/P1 hotend arrangements and the Panda Revo ecosystem. The intended benefit is airflow around the nozzle, but I have not tested overhangs, bridging or any claimed quality improvement. Confirm the precise hotend and variant rather than relying on a family name.
Installation is part of the cost. Read the guide, assess whether you can perform the work and understand the effect on support arrangements. If your current printer already produces the parts you need reliably, an upgrade may offer less practical value than maintenance supplies or more filament.
A build plate is another separate decision
The catalogue includes CryoGrip Pro and other build-plate options, with model-specific variants. A plate needs to match the printerâs dimensions and sensing or setup requirements as well as the material you want to print. Similar names do not establish that every plate works with every machine.
Check the current installation and material guidance for the chosen surface. Avoid assuming a lower-temperature or adhesion claim applies to all filaments. A surface that is helpful for one repeated job may be a poor universal replacement if it requires different handling for the rest of your work.
Budget for ownership, not the âfromâ price
Variant pricing can show a low starting figure for a component or accessory rather than the complete item you intended. Select the exact bundle and check the final delivered total, including any necessary mounting parts, shipping and taxes. Compare the package contents line by line.
Also account for time spent installing and validating the change. As a hypothetical example, a $40 part that needs three hours to fit and troubleshoot has a different real cost from a simple replacement. That may still be worthwhile for a hobbyist who enjoys the process, but less so for a production deadline.
My verdict
BIQU is worth considering for informed owners who can match a specific accessory to a specific problem. The range and published compatibility notes provide useful starting points, while the risk is buying on broad upgrade claims or overlooking firmware and variant details. I have not tested these accessories or verified performance gains.
My first purchase would be the smallest change with a clear practical benefit. Keep a record of the original setup and validate the result before changing something else. The best upgrade leaves you spending less time fighting the workflow and more time making the objects you actually wanted to print.
