Capillus review: compare laser cap models, evidence limits, purchase costs and satisfaction-guarantee deductions before choosing a hair device online.

Capillus sells wearable laser caps and other red-light products. Its caps look similar at a glance, yet the model, wavelengths, diode count, instructions and purchase terms deserve separate attention. The most useful comparison starts with the exact device and whether its intended use matches your situation, rather than the size of a promotional discount.

This desk review examines official Capillus information and FDA records checked on November 4, 2026. We have not used a device, measured hair growth or tested support and returns. Dealnory may earn a commission through our links at no extra cost to you. Check Capillus offers on Dealnory while comparing current models. This is a shopping review, not a diagnosis or personalised treatment recommendation.

Capillus review: compare the named models

The current PRO listing describes 272 laser diodes and a six-minute daily routine. The Spectrum description lists 312 diodes and two wavelengths, 650 nm and 808 nm. TriSpectrum lists 312 diodes with three wavelengths, 650 nm, 780 nm and 808 nm, and is displayed at $3,299 during our research. These are manufacturer specifications and a dated listing price, not measurements we independently performed.

A higher diode count or an extra wavelength does not by itself quantify an individual's likely improvement. Compare the evidence and instructions for each exact model. In particular, ask which studies concern the current product and which concern an earlier configuration using different wavelengths or treatment parameters.

The retailer also offers products beyond hair caps, including EyeLift. Our cover uses official references for a cap, its device component and that separate eye product in an illustrative daylight setting. It is not a treatment demonstration or evidence that an accessory shares the cap's intended use or regulatory status.

FDA clearance has a defined scope

We reviewed FDA record K163170, which names several Capillus devices, including the 272 Pro and 312. It concerns androgenetic alopecia within specified male and female hair-loss classifications and Fitzpatrick skin types I to IV. The record documents a 510(k) substantial-equivalence determination; it is not an assurance of a particular result for every buyer.

The older record describes 650 nm configurations. It should not automatically be used as proof of every additional wavelength claim on a newer retail model. Capillus currently describes TriSpectrum as FDA-cleared; ask the manufacturer for the applicable record and current instructions identifying the exact device offered.

A brand-wide badge is less useful than a model-specific answer. Check the name, model identifier and intended-use wording together. We have not independently established the regulatory mapping for every current cap, accessory or cosmetic product in the store, and this review does not transfer one device's clearance to the entire catalogue.

Establish the reason for hair loss first

The provider's indications page describes androgenetic alopecia and mild-to-moderate hair loss within the stated skin-type range. The TriSpectrum page uses broader marketing wording about more advanced thinning and post-transplant support. That difference warrants a discussion about the exact device's current intended use before purchase.

Hair thinning can have different causes, and a product comparison does not identify yours. Consult a qualified clinician when deciding whether a device is appropriate, especially if hair loss is sudden, unexplained, associated with scalp symptoms or follows a medical procedure. Do not use a store quiz as a substitute for that assessment.

The intended-use classifications are also different from a general claim that the product works for everyone. Ask how the evidence applies to your circumstances and what uncertainty remains. We are not recommending a specific cap for readers based on photographs or a short description of their hair loss.

Read the evidence beyond a percentage headline

The PRO listing cites an average hair-count increase from a clinical study. A reported group average is not a forecast of an individual outcome, and a percentage needs its baseline, measurement method, comparison group and follow-up period to be useful. We have not reproduced the study or independently assessed a reader's likely response.

When reviewing a study, identify the tested device, participant selection, protocol and outcome measured. A change in hair count is a different statement from a guaranteed visible cosmetic result. Ask whether the manufacturer has direct comparative evidence for a premium model, rather than inferring that an extra feature produces a known amount of improvement.

Before-and-after photographs can be affected by styling, lighting, angle and other treatments. They may illustrate a reported experience, but they should not be treated as a controlled comparison on their own. This article contains no invented user trial, personal growth percentage or guaranteed time to results.

Routine, fit and precautions

The listed caps use short timed sessions, but convenience depends on fit, charging and following the exact manual. TriSpectrum's page describes a regular size for a head circumference up to 25 inches. Confirm the available size and fitting instructions before ordering, particularly if you are close to a stated limit.

The same page warns against use with photosensitising medications and directs readers to consult a physician for scalp cancer or relevant light sensitivity. Read the full instructions and contraindications for the selected product rather than relying on this abbreviated review. A red-light accessory may have different eye-related precautions from a hair cap.

Do not increase session time or combine devices based on an assumption that more exposure means better results. Use the current manufacturer's instructions and your clinician's advice where relevant. We have not verified comfort, battery endurance or how easily the device fits into an actual user's daily routine.

The satisfaction guarantee includes a deduction

The detailed satisfaction policy covers new laser devices bought directly from Capillus.com within six months. It excludes upgrades, reworked devices and financial-relief programmes, and purchases through physicians or other retailers follow those sellers' terms. It states return shipping is the customer's responsibility and a 25% service fee is deducted.

That deduction is material beside risk-free marketing. On an illustrative $2,000 eligible purchase, 25% equals $500 before return shipping. Confirm the current applicable policy in writing because the detailed page carries an October 15, 2020 update date.

The return rules require an RMA, a fully functional like-new device and postmark within 14 days of authorisation. International outbound shipping is not refunded. Ask what happens to promotional gifts, financing charges or a bundled purchase; do not assume the headline guarantee answers every case.

Warranty and satisfaction are different

TriSpectrum's product page advertises a three-year limited warranty. A warranty normally concerns specified faults under defined conditions; a satisfaction return concerns a different decision. Obtain the full warranty for the exact model, including battery and accessory coverage, exclusions and the process for service.

New, refurbished and upgraded devices may differ in both price and coverage. Compare like with like rather than treating the lowest price as the same purchase. Record which company is selling the unit, whether it is new and which written policy applies. A marketplace or physician purchase should not be assumed to receive the website's direct-purchase guarantee.

Keep the proof of purchase, serial information, instructions and any written clarification together. If the device arrives damaged, preserve packaging and contact the provider promptly. We have not tested a warranty claim and cannot rate the practical turnaround or service experience from a policy page.

Compare the total commitment

Start with the final device price, then check delivery, tax, any accessories you actually need and potential return cost. If considering finance, compare the actual written total repayment and conditions rather than only the instalment figure. We have not obtained credit terms for an individual reader.

Optional gifts are only useful if you want the product and understand its own instructions. Do not use the advertised value of a free accessory to infer the amount you save in cash. Compare the same cap's eligible final price with and without a promotion and confirm whether any code changes the return treatment.

Visit Capillus through our affiliate link to view current eligible offers. Check the selected model, seller, discount conditions and final total. Promotions may change, so we do not promise that a particular percentage, gift or stacking arrangement will be available when you order.

The purchase decision should still rest on suitability, the exact evidence and acceptable written terms. A limited-time message is not a reason to skip a clinician discussion or overlook a substantial service-fee deduction.

Our assessment

Capillus provides several wearable laser-cap options with clearly differentiated specification claims. It deserves a model-specific comparison for someone considering a clinician-appropriate approach to androgenetic hair loss, but this review does not establish that the most expensive model is the best choice for that person.

The key unresolved purchase questions are the evidence and clearance relevant to the exact current device, its fit and instructions, and the net cost if it is returned. Resolve those points before giving weight to a growth headline, a short session time or a promotional bundle.
