EXHOBBY review: compare RC planes, boats and cars, ready-to-run contents, spare parts, delivery costs and return limits before choosing your next hobby model.

EXHOBBY carries radio-controlled models across several categories, including VOLANTEXRC aircraft and boats, RACENT vehicles and SUPULSE accessories. Its attraction is the ability to compare different ways into the RC hobby in one catalogue. The useful question is which model fits your available space, experience and maintenance budget.

This desk review is based on official product pages and policies checked on November 4, 2026. We have not flown, driven or operated these models, measured their speed or tested their durability. Performance descriptions are manufacturer claims rather than our test results. The cover is an illustrative arrangement based on official product references. Dealnory may earn commission through our links at no extra cost to you.

EXHOBBY review: choose the category before the discount

The store separates aircraft by type, skill level and completion level. It also offers racing boats, sailboats, cars, trucks and supporting accessories. Those distinctions matter more than a general beginner-friendly label. A first aircraft requires a different place to use it from a tabletop car, and a fast boat needs suitable water access and a recovery plan.

Our three examples are the VOLANTEXRC P-51D Mustang 761-5, Arrobolt SR40 boat and RACENT 1/64 Mustang car. They illustrate how the same broad hobby budget can lead to very different ownership requirements. Buying all three is unnecessary; start with the one you can use regularly and maintain properly.

P-51D Mustang 761-5: examine what ready to fly includes

The P-51D Mustang page displayed $99 for the selected red ready-to-fly package. It describes a 400 mm, four-channel aircraft with XPilot stabilisation. The box list includes a transmitter, two flight batteries, USB charger, spare propeller, landing gear and manual. Four AA transmitter batteries are listed separately as required.

Those contents make this a clearer comparison than a bare airframe price. Still, ready to fly describes the package, not a promise that the first session requires no preparation. Read the manual, perform the required checks and choose a permitted location appropriate to the model and your experience. Assistance from an experienced RC pilot can be more valuable than an extra cosmetic feature.

Stabilisation and a propeller-saver feature are useful details to investigate, but neither guarantees that an aircraft cannot crash or be damaged. We have not tested how the assistance behaves. Before purchase, check availability and prices for the exact propeller, battery and other likely replacement parts rather than assuming that every small VOLANTEXRC aircraft uses the same components.

Arrobolt SR40: a different environment and maintenance routine

The VOLANTEXRC Arrobolt SR40 79707 page showed $103.99. The manufacturer describes brushless power, water cooling, reverse and a self-righting hull, with a headline speed above 25 mph. We did not verify that speed or recovery behaviour. Actual use and conditions can differ from a product demonstration.

The listed package includes the boat, controller, two 7.4 V batteries, a USB charging cable, spare propeller, nose bumper, tools, display stand and manual. Four AA batteries for the transmitter are excluded. Confirm the selected bundle before checkout because similarly named listings can contain different quantities.

A boat makes sense to consider only if you have an appropriate permitted place to operate it. Think about shoreline access and how you would retrieve a stopped model without entering unsafe water. Follow the manual's requirements for water conditions, checking seals and care after use. A self-righting claim does not establish that the boat can always return to you after a fault.

Compare the full ownership routine with an aircraft or car. Time spent charging, checking and cleaning the model is part of the hobby. If you want only a short indoor activity, a boat may be inconvenient even when its sale price looks competitive.

RACENT 1/64 Mustang: a smaller place to start

The RACENT 1/64 Mustang Mini Retro Beast page displayed $49.99 and describes proportional steering and throttle, switchable gyro assistance and scale lighting. The official reference shows a blue car with white stripes and a pistol-style controller. Its small scale is central to the appeal and should not be confused with a larger off-road vehicle.

For this type of purchase, assess the surface and room you actually have. A model photographed close up can appear much larger than it is. Compare dimensions, controller requirements, charging arrangements and replacement-part availability for the exact package. Graduated controls are a specification to investigate, not evidence from our own driving test.

The car costs $49.01 less than the $99 aircraft example, but the difference does not prove better value. A buyer who wants to learn flying will not get that experience from a small car. Conversely, a person with convenient indoor space may use the car far more often than an aircraft requiring travel to a suitable site.

Package completeness and spare parts

The store distinguishes ready-to-fly packages from plug-and-play products. Read each box list rather than transferring the contents of one example to another. Record the transmitter, receiver, batteries and charger included, plus anything the listing says is needed to complete the model. Ask support about unclear compatibility before adding spare batteries or chargers.

For batteries, use only the type and charging equipment specified by the manufacturer and follow its handling instructions. This review does not provide charging modifications or performance upgrades. A lower-cost accessory is poor value if the connector, voltage or intended model does not match.

Look for a parts listing tied to the actual model number. Similar paint schemes or dimensions are not enough to establish interchangeable components. If an essential part is unavailable, consider how long you are willing to wait for repairs before deciding that the initial saving is worthwhile.

Returns: using the model changes the decision

The ordinary return policy allows requests within 30 days of delivery for new, unused, unassembled products in original packaging with all included parts. Authorisation and the designated return address are required. Ordinary return postage is paid by the customer, original shipping charges are nonrefundable and eligible returns have no restocking fee. Clearance and open-box goods are excluded.

Confirmed quality defects or wrong shipments have separate provisions: contact support with evidence before returning anything, and the store says it covers necessary return shipping. Do not treat the ordinary return window as permission to fly or drive a model for a trial. Photograph the package and contents when they arrive and keep the order details.

Warranty: inspect before the first flight

The warranty page describes a 30-day functional-defect period using purchase-or-delivery wording and explicitly excludes aircraft that have been flown. It also reserves the option to supply replacement parts rather than an entire replacement model. Ask for the applicable terms for your exact purchase when the start date or remedy is unclear.

This creates a practical reason to inspect contents and follow the prescribed preflight checks before operating an aircraft. Contact support about a suspected fault before use. Crash damage, an ordinary return and a confirmed manufacturing issue are different situations; we have not tested how the company handles individual claims.

Shipping and the real basket cost

For the contiguous US and Washington, DC, the shipping policy gives a $79.99 free-shipping threshold based on the whole discounted, pre-tax merchandise subtotal. Below that, it lists $9.99 per participating fulfilment warehouse, potentially $19.98 if both US and China warehouses are involved. The threshold applies to the whole order even if fulfilment is split.

The policy estimates two to six business days from the US warehouse or ten to fifteen from China, and excludes Alaska, Hawaii, territories and military addresses from US coverage. Other regions have separate rates. Check warehouse availability and the destination-specific checkout quote instead of assuming every item arrives on the same schedule.

The $49.99 car alone falls below the US threshold; the two larger examples exceed it at their listed prices. A discount can change the qualifying subtotal. Add accessories only when needed, and compare the final amount with simply paying shipping. Filling a basket with unnecessary parts can cost more than the charge you hoped to avoid.

Frequently asked questions

Does ready to fly mean no extra purchase?

Not necessarily. The reviewed aircraft package still lists transmitter AA batteries separately. Check the selected product's complete requirements.

Does stabilisation guarantee a damage-free first flight?

No. It is an assistance feature, and this review contains no independent flight testing. Follow the manual and obtain appropriate instruction.

Can I return a model after trying it?

The ordinary policy requires it to be unused and unassembled. A suspected quality issue follows a separate diagnostic process and should be raised with support promptly.

Verdict: buy the model you can support and use

EXHOBBY provides a varied catalogue with useful package and model distinctions. The strongest purchase matches a suitable operating location, clear box contents and available replacement parts. Its limitations include restrictive ordinary-return conditions after use and a particularly important aircraft warranty exclusion. Browse EXHOBBY deals on Dealnory once the package and ownership costs are clear.
