Lucid Review: Value Foam Mattresses, Toppers and Bases

Lucid review: how the value mattress brand's foam models, toppers and adjustable bases compare, what the trial and warranty cover, and the current offers before you buy.

Buying a mattress online means making a decision about something you will lie on for years without lying on it first. Lucid's answer is a focused, value-priced catalog of memory foam mattresses, toppers and adjustable bases, shipped to your door with a trial period behind it. The catalog is easy to browse, but the right choice still depends on how you sleep, what bed frame you already own and whether you need a new mattress at all.

This desk review is based on Lucid's published product information and the offers listed on Dealnory, checked on November 4, 2026. We have not tested the mattresses or bases. Lucid review: a compact catalog built around foam

The mattress lineup is short: the Low Profile, The Original and the Premium Memory Foam. That is a deliberate contrast with brands that list a dozen near-identical models, and it makes comparison easier. Each sits in the memory foam family, so the main differences to check on the product pages are height, comfort feel and price rather than entirely different constructions.

Beyond mattresses, Lucid sells three adjustable bases, the L150, L300 and L600, plus a set of toppers and bedding: pillows, mattress protectors, comforters and headboards. A new Lucid Blue Collection is listed for pre-order, so expect the range to keep shifting. For many shoppers the toppers and bases are as relevant as the mattresses themselves.

Mattress or topper: decide what problem you are solving

If your current mattress is structurally sound but feels too firm, a topper is often the cheaper fix. Lucid offers Gel Memory Foam, 5-Zone Gel Memory Foam and Down Alternative plus Gel Memory Foam toppers. The zoned option is aimed at people who want different support under the shoulders and hips, while the down alternative blend adds a softer surface feel on top of foam.

A topper will not rescue a mattress that sags, has lost support or is simply worn out. In that case the full mattress range makes more sense. Be honest about the age and condition of your current bed before deciding, because a topper on a failing mattress usually just postpones the replacement.

Choosing a model by sleep position and bed height

Side sleepers generally look for a softer surface that lets the shoulder and hip sink in, while back and stomach sleepers usually want firmer support to keep the spine level. Read the comfort description for each Lucid model with your main sleep position in mind, and if you share a bed, think about whose needs take priority or whether a topper could bridge the difference.

Height matters too. The Low Profile model is designed for setups where a tall mattress would be awkward, such as a bed frame with high sides, a bunk bed or an adjustable base. Check your frame's depth and your preferred sitting height before choosing, and confirm the mattress dimensions match your frame exactly.

Adjustable bases, trial, warranty and protection plans

The L150, L300 and L600 adjustable bases let you raise the head or feet of the bed, which helps people who read or watch television in bed. Compare the features on each base, check that your chosen mattress is suitable for an adjustable base, and measure the space around the bed so the moving parts have clearance.

Lucid lists a 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty for its mattresses, along with free shipping and easy returns. Optional protection plans are sold for one, three or five years at extra cost. Read the trial and warranty terms before ordering, especially any conditions around returns, and treat the paid protection plan as an optional add-on rather than a default.

Who Lucid suits, and who may want something else

Lucid fits US shoppers who want an affordable memory foam bed delivered in a box, people refreshing a guest room or first apartment, and anyone who wants to improve an existing bed with a topper or adjustable base. The short lineup makes it a good starting point if long comparison tables put you off.

It may be a weaker fit if you strongly prefer the bounce of innerspring coils, need a very specific firmness that the foam models do not describe, or want to try a mattress in a showroom before buying. For those buyers, the trial period helps but does not fully replace testing in person.

Our verdict: buy for your sleep position, not the sale banner

Lucid makes the most sense when you already know what you need: a value foam mattress, a topper to soften a firm bed, or an adjustable base for reading in bed. The compact range, 100-night trial and 10-year warranty make it a low-friction way to buy online.

Start with your sleep position and frame height, choose the matching model, and only then look at the price. A discount on the wrong mattress is still the wrong mattress, while the right one at a sale price is a genuinely good buy.

Current offers and a sensible final price
