StarknightMT Review: Are Budget UTV Windshields and Accessories Worth Buying?

In this article
A side-by-side UTV leaves the dealer as a capable machine but rarely a comfortable one. Owners soon start adding windshields against dust and wind, roofs for shade, doors and cab enclosures for winter, storage boxes, mirrors and seat covers. Dealer accessories can be expensive, which is why aftermarket brands are so popular. StarknightMT sells UTV and side-by-side accessories, organised by year, make and model, for Can-Am, Polaris, Honda, CFMOTO, Kawasaki, Yamaha, John Deere and other brands.
I would judge an aftermarket accessory on exact fitment, material and how difficult it is to return if it does not fit. With UTV parts, a small difference between model years can mean a windshield or door that will not mount.
What the range covers
Categories include front and rear windshields, soft cab enclosures, seat covers, cargo and storage boxes, mirrors, phone and gun holders, roofs, doors, bumpers, lift kits and riding gear, plus some ATV parts. Example listings included a Can-Am Defender rear windshield, a Polaris RZR XP 1000 soft cab enclosure, Honda Pioneer neoprene seat covers and a Polaris Ranger cargo bed storage box. I did not see prices on the pages I read, so check product pages for current pricing.
Fitment is everything
Use the year, make and model selector and then double-check the product details against your machine, including trim level, cab width and any accessories already fitted. A roll cage shape, existing roof or winch can affect whether a windshield or door fits. If you are unsure, the FAQ suggests contacting support before ordering, which I would do for anything large.
Materials to consider
Windshields are commonly polycarbonate, which is impact resistant but scratches more easily than glass, especially if cleaned dry. Use plenty of water and a soft cloth. Soft cab enclosures keep out cold and rain but need careful storage to avoid mould and cracking. Neoprene seat covers protect seats from mud and wear and are easier to clean than many original seats.
Shipping
StarknightMT has warehouses in California, Texas, New Jersey and Guangzhou. Standard shipping is free in the contiguous US on orders of $50 and over, with a $6.99 flat rate below that. Handling takes one to two business days, and delivery takes three to seven business days from US warehouses, seven to twelve from Guangzhou and ten to thirty outside the US. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and PO boxes are excluded, and customs duties are paid by the recipient.
Returns: check the protective film rule
The return policy offers 45 days for unused, new items, while the FAQ says 30 days, so plan on the shorter window. For returns that are the buyer's choice, you pay return shipping plus a $15 restocking fee. The company pays for its own errors or quality problems, with refunds processed in three to seven business days.
The most important detail for windshields is that polycarbonate windshields cannot be returned if either protective film has been removed. Test the fit with the film still on before you peel it off.
Warranty and support
I did not find a warranty page on the pages I read, so ask about coverage for items such as windshields and enclosures. Support hours are listed slightly differently on two pages, both on weekdays, roughly 8 or 9am to 6pm.
For illustration, a windshield that costs a few hundred dollars and stays on the machine for five years of weekend trail riding works out to a small cost per ride, especially compared with dust-filled eyes and goggles every outing. That is a budgeting example, not a durability guarantee.
Fitting tips
Fit accessories on a dry day with the machine parked on level ground. Lay out all hardware first and read the instructions fully, since windshield clamps and door hinges often need to be fitted in a specific order. Tighten clamps evenly so a polycarbonate panel is not stressed at one corner, which can lead to cracks. After the first ride, check every fastener again, because vibration on trails loosens bolts quickly. Keep a small kit of spare clips and bolts in the storage box for trail repairs.
My verdict
StarknightMT offers a wide range of fitment-specific UTV accessories with free shipping over $50 and several US warehouses for faster delivery. The conflicting return windows, the restocking fee and the protective film rule on windshields mean careful checking before fitting is essential. I have not fitted these accessories, so material quality, fit accuracy and durability remain untested here.
If I were ordering, I would confirm fitment with support, test-fit with the film on and keep all packaging until I was sure. An accessory earns its price when it fits properly and makes every ride more comfortable, not when it is simply the cheapest option for your model.
