Plenty of people do not want a brand-new e-bike. They want the bike they already ride to climb hills with less effort, or they want an ageing e-bike to keep going after its battery has faded. Yose Power is interesting because it serves both situations, selling e-bike conversion kits and replacement batteries from a European warehouse.

I would start with the bike you have and the problem you are trying to solve. A kit or battery earns its price when it fits properly, installs within your ability and keeps you riding for years. A cheaper part does little for the budget if the connector does not match or the installation becomes a job you cannot finish.

What Yose Power sells

Yose Power, which says it has been operating since 2011, sells hub-motor conversion kits, replacement and DIY batteries and e-bike accessories, with sister sites for the UK, US and the Netherlands. Homepage listings included a 36V 350W 26-inch rear-motor conversion kit with a 36V 13Ah battery and charger for €429, a 36V 13Ah (481Wh) battery for €219, a 36V 14Ah rear-rack battery from €320 and a 43V 17.5Ah (752Wh) Bafang rack battery with LG cells for €479.

Those prices are attractive compared with replacing a whole bike, but the two product types solve different problems. A conversion kit changes how your bike works; a replacement battery restores range on a bike that already has a motor.

Compatibility comes before price

The FAQ says its batteries can usually replace the same type of battery from other brands, but that you need to confirm the size, discharge port and other matching information carefully. Some listings specify that a battery holder, discharge cable or charger is not included. For conversion kits, wheel size, motor position and whether your bike uses a freewheel or cassette all matter.

Photograph your current battery, its mount and connectors before shopping, and note the voltage. If you are converting a bike, check the dropout width, wheel size and brake type. A part that is almost compatible is not compatible.

Installation is part of the cost

Yose Power provides video installation guides on YouTube. A conversion kit is not a five-minute job: it involves the wheel, wiring, controller, display and sensors, and one customer review on the site mentions budgeting a few hours. Replacement batteries are usually simpler, but still need the correct mount.

If you are not comfortable working on a bike, add a mechanic’s fee to your calculation. It is also worth checking whether converted bikes are treated differently by insurers or local e-bike rules where you ride, because a kit’s motor power and speed limits should match what is permitted.

Shipping, returns and warranty

Shipping is described as free across Europe, with batteries and kits shipped from Germany; delivery is listed at two to four working days within Germany and four to eight outside it. The return information is inconsistent: the homepage mentions a 30-day return policy, while the returns page asks for products to be sent back within seven days after confirming the return details. Plan around the shorter window.

The warranty page describes a 12 to 18-month limited warranty from purchase, non-transferable, with the owner paying return shipping for warranty parts; within the first 30 days, Yose Power says it covers labour and parts. It also advises charging a stored battery at least once a month, which is good practice for any lithium e-bike battery.

Compare with a new bike or official battery

Add the kit or battery, any missing holder or charger and installation help. Then compare that with an official replacement battery from your bike’s manufacturer or a complete new e-bike. Independent batteries are often cheaper, but the difference is only worthwhile if fit and quality hold up.

For illustration, a €429 conversion kit plus €80 of workshop labour is €509, considerably less than many complete e-bikes. If it requires a new wheel, brakes or repeated workshop visits, the gap narrows quickly. That is a budgeting example, not a quote.

My verdict

Yose Power looks most useful for riders in Europe who want to electrify a bike they like or restore range with a compatible replacement battery. The published voltage, capacity and compatibility guidance make it possible to shortlist parts sensibly. I have not installed or ridden with these products, so performance and longevity remain untested here.

I would match connectors and mounts precisely, plan around the shorter return window and decide honestly whether to do the installation yourself. The price earns its place when the bike becomes something you ride more often. Compatibility checking is the real first step.
