Keeping a pool clean is one of those chores that never really ends. Leaves, dust and insects arrive daily, and skimming by hand or dragging a manual vacuum around the floor eats into the time you meant to spend swimming. Robotic pool cleaners promise to take that job over, and cordless models remove the tangled cable from the equation. Talosbo sells robotic pool cleaners and a solar skimmer, and its site also features a wire-free robot lawn mower.

I would judge a pool robot on whether it suits your pool's shape and floor, how long it runs per charge, how easy the filter is to empty and what happens if it fails after the first season. A cheap robot that cannot climb your floor slope is not a bargain.

The Pleco SE

The model I looked at in detail, the Pleco SE cordless robot, was listed at $179.99 against $199.99, although it showed as out of stock when I checked. The page lists a 2.5-hour charge for 130 minutes of continuous cleaning, suction of 1,920 gallons per hour, a 180-micron filter tray and a 2.5-litre debris tray. It is rated for pools up to 860 square feet.

Other models, including the Pleco Pro, S2, S1 Pro and C1, plus two skimmers, are listed on the site, but I did not read their specifications.

Check your pool floor first

The most important line on the Pleco SE page is that it is designed for flat-bottom pools only and is not suitable for sloped floors. The same page also describes universal pool compatibility, which contradicts that note. I would follow the stricter statement. Many in-ground pools have a deep end with a sloped transition, which a floor-only robot may not handle well.

If your pool has slopes, steps you want cleaned or walls that collect algae, look for a model that explicitly climbs walls and handles slopes, and confirm with support before ordering.

Filters and maintenance

A 180-micron filter catches leaves and larger debris but may let very fine dust pass. A larger debris tray means emptying it less often. Rinse the filter after each run, recharge the robot out of direct sun and store it dry over winter. Chlorine and salt are hard on seals and plastics over time, so a quick freshwater rinse helps.

Shipping and returns

Talosbo ships to the continental US only, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam, and not to PO boxes. Orders ship within 48 hours with delivery in three to seven business days, and shipping is free over $79. Damage must be reported within five business days, and orders can be cancelled within 60 minutes.

Undamaged products can be returned for a full refund for any reason within 30 days of delivery, with all accessories and original packaging, and buyers pay return shipping for non-defect returns. I did not see a restocking fee mentioned.

Warranty

Warranty periods are listed as twelve months for the Pleco SE, S1 and skimmers, twenty-four months for the Pleco Pro and three months on consumables such as the filter tray and charger. Motor and battery repairs are listed as free within the warranty period. One clause dates the period from delivery, while the replacement clause mentions purchase date, so keep both records.

What about the lawn mower?

The navigation links to a Mowsence wire-free robot mower page, but I did not read it, so I cannot comment on its coverage, navigation or slope handling. Treat any lawn mower purchase as a separate decision and read that product's details carefully.

For illustration, a $179.99 robot used three times a week over a five-month season costs about $3 per clean in its first year, falling as it lasts into later seasons. That is a budgeting example, not a durability guarantee.

My verdict

Talosbo's Pleco SE looks like an affordable entry point into cordless robotic pool cleaning for owners of small to medium flat-bottomed pools, with clear runtime figures and a simple 30-day return policy. The flat-floor limitation, the conflicting compatibility wording and the short warranty on consumables are the points to weigh. I have not used these robots, so cleaning coverage, navigation and battery life remain untested here.

If I were buying, I would confirm my pool's floor shape and size, check stock and test the robot during the first two weeks. A pool robot earns its price when the water stays clear without you lifting a net, not when it has the lowest price on the page.
