VeSync Review: Is a Smart Air Purifier Worth the Running Costs?

Smart home appliances promise convenience, but the real cost often appears later: replacement filters, app accounts and devices that feel essential for a month and are then ignored. VeSync is interesting because it brings together three well-known brands, Levoit, COSORI and Etekcity, under one app and one official store, with air purifiers as a central part of the range.
I would start with the problem you want to solve at home. A smart appliance earns its price when it improves daily life and its running costs are sustainable. An air purifier does little for the budget if it is too small for the room or the filters are replaced so rarely that it stops doing its job.
What VeSync sells
The VeSync store sells Levoit air purifiers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, vacuums and fans, COSORI kitchen appliances such as air fryers and dehydrators, and Etekcity health and wellness products such as smart scales. It says its platform connects more than 50 million devices for over 14 million users in more than 30 countries, and that it has operated since 2011.
Bringing several brands into one app is convenient if you plan to own more than one device. If you only want a single air fryer, the app may matter less than the appliance itself.
Comparing two air purifiers
The Levoit Core 300S-P is listed at $149.99 with a clean air delivery rate of 175 CFM for pollen, 156 CFM for dust and 141 CFM for smoke, three-stage filtration and noise as low as 22 dB. The Levoit Vital 200S-P, at $189.99, is described for large rooms and pets, with three-stage filtration, 140 g of activated carbon and a washable pre-filter. Larger models such as the Core 600S-P at $299.99 and EverestAir-P at $499.99 are also listed.
Clean air delivery rate is the most useful number when comparing purifiers, because it shows how quickly a unit can clean a room. Match it to the room size where the purifier will actually run, and note that room coverage was not stated on the pages read for these models.
Filters are the real running cost
Replacement filters for the Core 300S-P were listed at $25.99 each, and for the Vital 200S-P at $46.99 each, with multipacks available. VeSync recommends replacing the Core 300S-P filter every six to eight months and the Vital 200S-P every six to twelve months, and cleaning the Core 300S-P pre-filter every two to four weeks with a soft brush or vacuum rather than water.
Over a few years, filters can cost as much as the purifier itself. Include them in the comparison, especially if you have pets, allergies or live near traffic and will need to replace them more often.
Smart features and the app
The VeSync app is available for iOS and Android and lets you control and monitor connected devices. The Etekcity ESF-551 smart scale, for example, tracks 13 body metrics using bioelectrical impedance, supports up to 400 lb and unlimited users, and syncs progress in the app; it was listed at $19.99 on sale.
Compatibility with voice assistants and other smart home platforms was not stated on the pages read, so check the product page if that integration matters. A good app is useful, but the appliance should still work well without it.
Shipping, returns and warranty
The homepage advertises free shipping on orders over $20, a two-year limited warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee to try products at home, and product pages mention free returns. Detailed return conditions were not read in full, so check them before ordering larger items. Support is listed on weekdays from 9am to 6pm Pacific time.
Register the product for warranty purposes and keep the receipt. A two-year warranty is a reasonable cushion for appliances that run for many hours a day.
Compare the cost per year
Add the device, a year of filters and electricity. Then compare that with the problem you are solving. A purifier in a bedroom for someone with allergies is a very different value proposition from one placed in a rarely used room.
For illustration, a $149.99 purifier plus two $25.99 filters a year costs about $202 in its first year and about $52 in later years for filters. That is a budgeting example, not a running-cost guarantee.
My verdict
VeSync looks well suited to households that want reputable air purifiers, kitchen appliances and smart scales managed through one app, backed by a two-year warranty and a 30-day trial. The published clean air delivery rates and filter schedules make it possible to plan running costs. I have not used these devices, so noise, filtration performance and app reliability remain untested here.
I would size the purifier to the room by its clean air delivery rate, budget for filters from the start and use the trial to check noise at night. The price earns its place when the air feels fresher every day. The cheapest purifier is the one you keep running properly.
