The GUU Shop Review: Are Iced-Out Chains and Moissanite Pieces Worth Buying Online?

Statement jewellery is meant to be noticed. Iced-out Cuban chains, tennis chains and diamond-look pendants have moved from music videos into everyday streetwear, and online stores now sell them at every price point. The GUU Shop focuses on that look, selling chains, pendants, bracelets, rings, earrings, watches, grillz, custom pieces and a growing moissanite range.
With this kind of jewellery, I would separate two very different products: plated fashion pieces and sterling silver with moissanite. They differ in price, durability and return rules, so it helps to know which one you are actually buying.
Plated fashion pieces
Many of the most visible items are plated chains and pendants. When I checked, a 14mm iced prong Cuban chain was listed at $109.90 against $199.90, and a white gold diamond cross with a 4mm tennis chain was offered as a bundle for $79. The pages I read did not state the base metal or plating thickness for the Cuban chain, which is the detail that determines how long the colour lasts.
Plated jewellery can look striking for the price, but it is more vulnerable to wear, sweat and water. I would ask for the base metal and plating before buying anything you plan to wear daily.
Sterling silver and moissanite
The higher-end range uses 925 sterling silver with VVS moissanite. Examples included a 12mm prong Cuban link chain at $999, reduced from $1,999, a crucifix necklace at $129, reduced from $249, and a 5mm tennis chain at $599. Moissanite items carry a GRA certified badge, although the pages I read did not explain the certification.
Moissanite is a lab-created stone that is very hard and bright, making it a popular alternative to diamond. The important caveat here is that 925 and moissanite pieces are final sale, so you cannot return them if you change your mind.
Guarantee and returns
The Lifetime GUU Guarantee applies to gold-plated and vermeil pieces and covers one free exchange for damage or defects. It excludes tarnish, scratches, accidental breakage and water damage, which are the most common problems with plated jewellery, and further repairs cost 50 percent of the price paid. That makes the guarantee narrower than its name suggests.
General returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt for unused, unworn items in original packaging. Refunds carry a 15 percent restocking fee, waived if you choose store credit, and the customer pays return shipping. Sale items are exchange or credit only, and custom and solid gold pieces cannot be returned. Defect claims should be raised within seven days according to the FAQ.
Shipping and some inconsistencies
Shipping is free on orders of $30 or more. US standard delivery is listed at six to eight business days, with DHL or FedEx at three to five days, and international standard at six to ten days. The FAQ gives a longer average of seven to twenty working days and a different processing time, and the shipping page lists a support email on a different brand's domain. Cancellations are possible within 12 hours according to the FAQ.
None of these points rule the store out, but they suggest checking details with support before an expensive order.
Care
I did not find care guidance on the pages I read. As a rule, remove plated jewellery before showering, swimming or exercising, and store pieces separately to avoid scratches. Sterling silver can tarnish over time and benefits from a soft polishing cloth.
For illustration, a $109.90 chain worn three days a week for a year costs about 70 cents per wear. If plating wears within six months, that doubles. That is a budgeting example, not a durability guarantee.
Plated or sterling: a quick way to decide
If you want a bold look for parties, photos or occasional outfits, a plated piece keeps the cost low and the risk modest. If you plan to wear a chain every day, through showers and workouts, sterling silver with moissanite is the more durable route, but only once you are certain of length and width, because it cannot be returned. Measuring a chain you already own is the simplest way to choose the right size.
My verdict
The GUU Shop offers a broad range of statement jewellery, from affordable plated chains to sterling silver and moissanite pieces, with free shipping above a low threshold. The final-sale moissanite range, the 15 percent restocking fee and the limited guarantee mean you should be sure before ordering. I have not handled these pieces, so plating quality, stone sparkle and clasp strength remain untested here.
If I were buying, I would confirm the metal and plating details, choose plated pieces for occasional wear and treat moissanite as a considered final purchase. Jewellery earns its price when it still looks good months later, not just in the first photo.
