Totwoo Review: Do Long-Distance Touch Bracelets Really Work for Couples?

Long-distance relationships live on small gestures: a message at the right moment, a call before bed, a photo from someone else's day. Totwoo tries to add a physical gesture to that list. Its smart bracelets and necklaces connect to a phone app, so when one person touches their bracelet, their partner's piece lights up and vibrates, wherever they are. The brand also sells a smart locket that shows photos and videos.
I would think about connected jewellery in two ways at once: as jewellery that needs to look good and be comfortable every day, and as a small gadget that needs charging, an app and a working phone connection. If either half disappoints, the gift does not work.
The range and prices
The touch bracelets are sold mainly in pairs. When I checked, the Sun and Moon Touch Bracelets with Milan rope were listed at $142 to $149, the Soulmate 2.0 bracelets with a Cuban chain at $179, the Sun and Moon set with a snake chain at $169 and the Mountain and Sea set at $139. A Soulmate 3 Signature set was listed as a new arrival, and single pieces can be bought to pair with an existing one.
The Smart Locket sits apart from the touch range, offering photo slideshows, videos and AI-animated memories. Its price was not shown on the pages I read.
How the touch actually travels
The How It Works page explains the setup. You download the totwoo global app, charge the jewellery to activate it, keep Bluetooth on and add your partner using their phone number. The bracelet talks to your phone over Bluetooth, and your phone sends the signal over the internet to your partner's phone, which passes it to their bracelet.
That means the distance is unlimited in principle, but the touch only arrives when both phones are nearby, connected and running the app in the background. Each piece connects to one phone at a time.
Settings that make or break it
The App FAQ is unusually practical about this. On iPhone, it suggests turning off Low Power Mode and Do Not Disturb and enabling Background App Refresh. On Android, it recommends excluding the app from battery optimisation. Some models do not support sedentary reminders. The app lists compatibility from Android 4.3 and iOS 7, which covers nearly any current phone.
I would set this up together before one of you travels. Many phones aggressively close background apps, and a gift that stops working after a week is likely to be a settings issue rather than a faulty bracelet.
Charging needs care
The FAQ states that the charger runs on a standard 5V output and cannot handle adapters rated above 5V or fast-charging adapters. That is an easy detail to miss, since many modern phone chargers are fast chargers. Use a basic USB adapter or a computer port. Battery capacity and running time were not stated on the pages I read, so ask before buying if that matters to you.
Shipping, returns and warranty
Standard US shipping takes three to seven business days and is free on orders over $49, with express at $9.90. UK, Australia and New Zealand have express options, while other countries use standard shipping of 15 to 20 business days. Some countries are excluded, and local taxes are not included.
The homepage advertises 30-day free returns and exchanges, but the shipping page says items must be unopened with the shrink-wrap intact. That limits returns to unwanted gifts rather than pieces that did not suit you after trying. I did not find warranty terms on the pages I read, so ask about coverage for the electronics before buying.
Value as a gift
Compared with ordinary jewellery at a similar price, you pay extra for the electronics and the app. Compared with a smartwatch, you get far fewer features but something more personal and simpler to use.
For illustration, a $142 pair worn by two people every day for two years works out to about 10 cents per person per day. That is a budgeting example, not a durability guarantee.
My verdict
Totwoo looks like a thoughtful gift for couples or family members living apart, provided both people are comfortable with an app, Bluetooth and regular charging. The clear setup guidance helps, but the unopened-only returns and missing warranty details mean you should check the fine print. I have not worn these bracelets, so comfort, battery life and connection reliability remain untested here.
If I were buying, I would choose a style both people would wear anyway, set up the app together and keep a basic 5V charger with each piece. Connected jewellery earns its price through small moments of contact every day, not through the novelty of the first touch.
