TWOPAGES Review: Are Custom Curtains Worth It Over Ready-Made?

Curtains change a room more than almost any other soft furnishing. They control light, soften echo, frame a window and, in a bedroom, decide whether you wake at dawn or at your alarm. Ready-made panels are cheap and quick, but they often come in a handful of lengths that never quite suit a real window. TWOPAGES sells made-to-measure curtains and drapes, roman and bamboo shades, roller and cellular shades, valances and hardware, with designer collaborations alongside its own range.
I would judge custom curtains on three points: how confident you are about measuring, how much the custom fit is worth to you, and how comfortable you are with a purchase that usually cannot be returned. The last point is the one most likely to cause regret.
What TWOPAGES offers
The range is broad. Drapery comes in linen, cotton, velvet, silk, wool and sheer fabrics, with pleat styles such as pinch, tailored and ripple fold, plus specialist options including blackout, flame-retardant and soundproof fabrics. Shades include flat and hobbled roman styles, woven bamboo, roller, cellular and zebra options, with motorisation available on some products. Ready-made items are offered for buyers who do not need a custom size.
Prices in the product feed I checked started from around $89 for a jacquard pleated curtain, with designer valances from about $129 to $179. Final prices depend heavily on size, fabric, lining and header style.
Measuring is the whole job
The FAQ is extensive, covering measuring instructions, pleat counts, stack width, panel weight, return size, inside versus outside mounting for roman shades and width deductions. That depth is a good sign, because custom curtains are only as good as the measurements entered. TWOPAGES also lists design consultations, Zoom measuring help and in-home measurement and installation services.
I would order fabric swatches first. Colour and texture vary considerably between screens and real daylight, and TWOPAGES actively recommends ordering swatches or sample booklets before customised drapes.
The return policy is strict
This is the critical detail. Customised drapes, roman shades and blinds are generally not returnable if they were made to match your order. The policy lists reasons that do not qualify for a return, including misunderstanding the product image, items that do not fit but were made accurately, drapes that feel too heavy and colours that are not what you expected. Swatches and sample booklets cannot be returned, and made-to-order rods and tracks are also non-returnable.
Ready-to-ship hardware and ready-made products can be returned only under specific conditions. In practice, a mistake in your measurements is your cost, not the store's.
Shipping costs and lead times
Standard shipping costs $23 on orders up to $200, $17.99 between $200 and $299.99, and is free from $300. Express shipping is $129 and not available for every product, and a remote-area surcharge of roughly $35 to $60 may apply. Swatches cost $8.99 to $13.99 to ship worldwide.
Custom curtains need three to seven days of handling plus three to seven days of shipping on standard delivery. That is quick for made-to-measure work, but allow extra time if you also need hardware or installation.
Custom versus ready-made
Ready-made curtains make sense for standard windows, rentals and tight budgets. Custom curtains earn their premium on tall windows, bay windows, unusual widths or rooms where blackout and a precise drop to the floor really matter. They also suit people who plan to stay in a home for several years.
For illustration, a $400 pair of custom blackout drapes kept for eight years works out to $50 a year, or about 14 cents a day. A cheaper ready-made pair replaced twice in the same period might end up costing a similar amount. That is a budgeting example, not a durability guarantee.
Swatches before anything else
Swatches cost $8.99 to $13.99 to ship and cannot be returned, but they are still the cheapest insurance in this whole process. Hang them at the window at different times of day, hold them against the wall colour and check how much light passes through. A colour that looks warm on screen can look grey on a north-facing window, and that is not something the return policy will cover.
My verdict
TWOPAGES looks like a strong option for people who want made-to-measure curtains and shades and are willing to measure carefully, order swatches and accept a strict return policy. The detailed FAQ and measuring services lower the risk, but they do not remove it. I have not handled these fabrics, so colour accuracy, sewing quality and blackout performance remain untested here.
If I were ordering, I would request swatches, measure twice using the official guide and consider professional measuring for difficult windows. Custom curtains earn their price through years of fitting the window perfectly, not through the sale percentage on the banner.
